O'Connell, Englert are WB's 'Beautiful Creatures' from Variety
Thesps to star in Alcon's supernatural love story
Jack O'Connell and Alice Englert are in final negotiations to star in Alcon's supernatural love story ''Beautiful Creatures.''Project's based on first novel of a series written by Kami Carcia and Margaret Stohl. The film will be released by Warner Bros via Alcon's output deal.
Alcon has film rights to all three books in the series published by Little Brown Books, including ''Beautiful Darkness,'' and ''Beautiful Chaos.''
Erwin Stoff (''Water for Elephants,'' ''I Am Legend'') will produce along with Alcon co-founders and co-CEOs Broderick Johnson and Andrew Kosove.
The coming of age story will start shooting in April in New Orleans. Story is set in the South about two star-crossed teenage lovers -- a local boy, and a mysterious new girl who uncover dark secrets about their families, their history and their town.
Variety reported last week that Viola Davis was in negotiations to play a seer who looks after the boy and his father after the death of thhe boy's mother.
O'Connell's credits include "This is England," and "Harry Brown." Englert, recently wrapped filming on "Singularity" starring Josh Hartnett and Neve Campbell.
Richard LaGravenese will direct from his adaptation.

I think Alice Englert will make a Beautiful Lena, I have to admit Jack O'Connell isn't how I imagined Ethan. But this means we are one step closer to having a BC movie. How exciting is that.
