What if you were mankind’s last chance at survival?

Sixteen-year-old Tess lives in a compound in what was once the Western United States, now decimated after a devastating fourth World War. But long before that, life as we knew it had been irrevocably changed, as women mysteriously lost the ability to bring forth life. Faced with the extinction of the human race, the government began the Council of Creators, meant to search out alternative methods of creating life. The resulting artificial human beings, or Chosen Ones, were extraordinarily beautiful, unbelievably strong, and unabashedly deadly.

Life is bleak, but uncomplicated for Tess as she follows the rigid rules of her dystopian society, until the day she begins work at Templeton, the training facility for newly created Chosen Ones. There, she meets James, a Chosen One whose odd love of music and reading rivals only her own. The attraction between the two is immediate in its intensity—and overwhelming in its danger.

But there is more to the goings-on at Templeton than Tess ever knew, and as the veil is lifted from her eyes, she uncovers a dark underground movement bent not on taking down the Chosen Ones, but the Council itself. Will Tess be able to stand up to those who would oppress her, even if it means giving up the only happiness in her life?

Wow this one just sound so interesting, kind of  In Time mixed with a bit of Children of Men. I really think Chosen Ones will be either brilliant or a horrific disaster. And I for one can not wait to read it :) I like the tag line too, "Love Can't be Engineered"
So what do you think?

BLOOD-STARLIGHT
Laini Taylor’s Daughter of Smoke and Bone — the first novel in a trilogy — centered on a blue-haired girl named Karou who encounters unusual creatures and dangerous angels as she travels the world to carry out mysterious errands.

Now the sequel, Days of Blood and Starlight, is slated for a Nov. 6 release. It picks up where the best-selling Daughter left off. From the official description: “In this stunning sequel to Daughter of Smoke and Bone, Karou must come to terms with who and what she is, and how far she’ll go to avenge her people. Filled with heartbreak and beauty, mysteries and secrets, new characters and old favorites, Days of Blood and Starlight brings the richness, color and intensity of the first book to a brand new canvas.”

Judging from Daughter of Smoke and Bone — which EW’s Sara Vilkomerson called a “smartly plotted, surprising, and fiercely compelling read” — the sequel is well worth getting excited about. Check out a larger version of the brand new cover below!

Wicked Nights by Gena Showalter (Book Trailer)

OMG this is hawt.. Bonus to add to my WOW The Brand New Trailer for Wicked Nights by Gena Showalter My Favorite part is the little blurb about Zacharel
A Tempting Warrior Angel with a Heart of Ice and touch as Hot as Hell....

Waiting On Wednesday: Wicked Nights (Angels of the Dark #1) Lords of the Underworld spinoff

Jill over at Breaking the Spine started and I found it on the Ravenous Reader blog. I agree it is a great idea. This blog post is to alert those that visit about "the" book that we cannot wait to get our hands on.

Wicked Nights   (Angels of the Dark #1)

Wicked Nights (Angels of the Dark, #1)
From the New York Times bestselling author who brought you the Lords of the Underworld comes a dark, seductive new series featuring angels poised on the brink of destruction....
Leader of the most powerful army in the heavens, Zacharel has been deemed nearly too dangerous, too ruthless-and if he isn't careful, he'll lose his wings. But this warrior with a heart of ice will not be deterred from his missions, at any cost...until a vulnerable human tempts him with a carnal pleasure he's never known before. Accused of a crime she did not commit, Annabelle Miller has spent four years in an institution for the criminally insane. Demons track her every move, and their king will stop at nothing to have her. Zacharel is her only hope for survival, but is the brutal angel with a touch as hot as hell her salvation-or her ultimate damnation?

How freaking hawt it  this cover!~!  I have been in love with the Lords of the Underworld series since my dear friend Nancy said OMG you have to read this book!~!  When Ms Showalter first added the aspect of the Angels to her books and we met Zacharel and Lysander, I have been dieing to get to read Zacharel's story. It has been amusing to get to see how he reacted to the thought of love in Paris's story The Darkest Seduction. oHHHHH yeahhh This is going to be good.

Sooo have you read the Lords books, and if you have what is your favorite??

Review: The Fault in Our Stars by John Green

The Fault in Our Stars
View a preview of this book onlineDescription from Goodreads

The Fault in Our Stars

Diagnosed with Stage IV thyroid cancer at 12, Hazel was prepared to die until, at 14, a medical miracle shrunk the tumours in her lungs... for now.

Two years post-miracle, sixteen-year-old Hazel is post-everything else, too; post-high school, post-friends and post-normalcy. And even though she could live for a long time (whatever that means), Hazel lives tethered to an oxygen tank, the tumours tenuously kept at bay with a constant chemical assault.

Enter Augustus Waters. A match made at cancer kid support group, Augustus is gorgeous, in remission, and shockingly to her, interested in Hazel. Being with Augustus is both an unexpected destination and a long-needed journey, pushing Hazel to re-examine how sickness and health, life and death, will define her and the legacy that everyone leaves behind.

The Fault in Our Stars

Ok here I go...
WOW, Such a beautifully written story that The Fault in Our Stars will hold your heart in its metaphoric hands.... a must read!
When I first heard about The Fault in Our Stars,  I thought.. really do I want to read about dying teenagers? If you have spent anytime around an ICU or CCU the last thing you want to do is read a story about watching someone you love die. All that said, I am so very glad that I was coerced convinced by my dear friend Nancy to read this book. Mr Green told the story in such a way that even though you know somewhat what the outcome will be, you will laugh and cry along with the wonderfully witty and dare I say delightfully twisted characters.
I love each and every one of them. The sick teens, the Horrifically twisted writer, the best friend who has problems of his own, to the parents who are just trying to make the best of a very bad situation.
One of my favorite scenes has to do with throwing eggs at someones house... a delightful side story. If you have read TFIOS you already know the what and whys, if not, there will be a BIG ol' smile on your face when you get to it.
When our teens take a journey to Amsterdam, Mr Green paints a beautifully descriptive and picturesque moment in time that I will not easily forget, for it is etched forever in my heart and soul.

I give The Fault in Our Stars : 5 out of 5 hearts Tis Awesomeness!!
